Thomas Park: Experimental Live Videos
- Publication date
- Public Domain Mark 1.0
In 2018, Thomas Park began performing live, using various mixing consoles he coded. Thomas tried his best to record these performances. It was his goal to combine the audio with experimental video works.
This release page contains a selection of the video works.
Please note that the audio in this release was performed live, and that the video was not generated in real time, but created later on.
Some of the video material was created using a tool Thomas calls the "Internet Archive Visual Aggregator". The IAVA is a python program he coded in 2018. With its help, Thomas was able to collect sets of images and moving pictures from the Internet Archive using particular search words. The video, "East Aztec", for example, contains videos found using the search term, "East", and still images using "Aztec". The notion was to provide a fragmented yet populist experience, showing what contributors to the archive thought of, visually, when it comes to certain words.
Additional audio for the "Don't Fear The Fog Media Mix" was provided by Rodleen Getsic, various anonymous tape collagists and shortwave broadcasters, and Joshua Rickenbaugh.
The sounds in "Metachaun 2" were provided by Kosmik Leprechaun.
Some sounds in "Persisting Industrial Person" are by Daniel Barbiero.
Some sounds in "Convenience Store" are by Hunter Dragon.
